Every day another 35 Australians are told they have blood cancer, immediately plunging them and their families into a world of gruelling medical treatments and fearful uncertainty.

Each of us who raises money and carries a lantern at a Leukaemia Foundation’s 'Light the Night' event is raising vital funds for breakthrough research in hopes of achieving a future that is free of blood cancer.

    Dr Wei Jiang

Supporting Australia’s brightest blood cancer minds

Dr Jiang is just one of the talented researchers you will support when you fundraise in the lead up to Light the Night. Dr Jiang is a Leukaemia Foundation and Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand PhD 2018 grant recipient – in her transition to full-time research after a decade working as a clinician.

Based at The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (Sydney), Dr Jiang is running two clinical trials to uncover how targeted therapies can alter the immune system to treat blood cancer.

“My ultimate goal is to be part of the development and discovery of a new blood cancer treatment that is effective, safe and universally affordable for everyone diagnosed, not only the lucky few.” Dr Wei Jiang

Philips Lighting is proud to be a major partner of the Leukaemia Foundation's ‘Light the Nightevent. To help them raise funds for the blood cancer community, Philips Lighting will be donating $1 from every LED bulb sold at Woolworths stores from October 1- October 31, 2019.
How else can you help support the blood cancer community?

You can attend and walk one of the ‘Light the Night’ events across Australia.
